Love it. I have such nostalgia for that piece of music. Gives me goosebumps and a rush of memories every time I hear it.

The Great Developer Massacre of 2023-2024 (and onwards?)
Hero-of-Time replied to Dcubed's topic in General Gaming Discussion
Didn't take long for Take Two to make some cuts from Gearbox This industry needs a massive reset. It's an absolute mess at the moment. -
Put some more time into Super Princess Peach and have made it to world 6. I'm loving all the little mini games and sections that you get to play that take advantage of the capabilities of the DS. The touch screen is put to good use for things like catapulting Peach by dragging the platform down and firing it up. Blowing into the microphone to fire bubbles from her submarine is awesome. I bought a power up in the shop that gives me the ability to gain coins by whacking enemies with Perry. I found a decent spot in 5-2 to farm coins and so hung around there for a while as there are quite a lot of things to purchase. Yup, still loving the game. Sooooo much better and polished than Showtime.

Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection (Vol. 1 - 24th October 2023)

Success! There's a cracking amount of variety in these missions and I had a blast playing through them all. There were certainly crazy Konami antics in some of them. One had me taking on a giant UFO with stinger missiles and another had me fending of 2 giant soldiers who were stomping through the city trying to kidnap Meryl. I also unlocked and had to play through stages where you could use Ninja/Grey Fox. Amazing. Granted, there were only 3 stages to play as him but it was so much fun slicing and dicing my way through enemies. His movements are so different when compared to Snake. Yeah, very happy to have finally played through Special Missions.- 37 replies

Info is from Dusk Golem who is usually on the money when it comes to Capcom stuff. It's Monster Hunter and so I'll still buy it regardless, doesn't mean I'm happy about it though.

Nobody seems to enjoy the Detective stages.

Agreed. The God of War documentary SSM released is one of my favourites to watch. Watched it a few times now. -

I blame your influence on me over the years. -
Dug out my copy of Super Princess Peach and have decided to play through it. Honestly can't remember the last time I played it. I remember very little about it other than I loved it. Time to wipe the slate clean and start a new save file. Crazy that it's nearly 20 years old now! Anyway, I've played through the first 2 worlds this evening and its been great. It feels so weird going from Princess Peach: Showtime! to this. Showtime is very slow and clunky but this feels super smooth and fast. It actually feels like a Nintendo game. I had a look at who made it and came across this. They've had their hand in a stupid amount of games. Seriously impressive. Makes sense that they made The Legendary Starfy (awesome game). Super Princess Peach shares a similar visual style.

Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection (Vol. 1 - 24th October 2023)

Today I started setting about tackling all 300 VR missions and have made decent progress. These are incredibly fun. I never played Special Missions back on the PS1 and so this is a new experience for me. There's a lot of trial and error involved and you can deviate from what the game wants you to do and think outside the (just a) box. The time trials can be a little tight at times but with a little practice and memorisation they can be beaten after a few attempts. I've finished all the weapon challenges, both standard and advanced, and so there's just the stealth and special missions left to do.- 37 replies

Skull has been on my wishlist for a while. -
Another cracking episode of X-Men 97. Shame that my D+ runs out on Sunday. This will be the last episode I get to watch until I decide to resubscribe, which will probably be when there are a lot of new shows/movies built up for me to watch.

Penny's Big Breakaway (From the developers of Sonic Mania)

Here's how the patch changes the performance of the Switch version. -
If you bought a physical copy you could have just sent it back. Put an hour or so into this, yesterday evening. Pretty fun so far. I love how fast and fluid the movement is. Makes for a very pleasant experience when zooming around the map, even more so now that I've unlocked air dash. I was thinking about Metroidvania type games when playing this and there's nothing more satisfying about them than unlocking either the air dash or double jump moves. Makes traversal so much more fun.
