Sorry, it might just be the fact I'm incredibly sleep deprived, but I had to look at this about four times wondering what was wrong with it. It was only on attempt four I realised I was reading it as "Cunt magazine". Oh boy.

Great sounding report so far, dude. Keep the updates coming.

I've actually just started introducing the word "clint" as a derogative term in my social circles. The trick to it is that people first think that maybe you're paying them a compliment, comparing them to Eastwood...

Looks like america is all about food, and for that I am jealous! As if it was two weeks... ReZ, we missed you :'(

P.S. Loving the 'motel' style apartment. Did you have separate rooms..?

Posted

Haha, I've stayed in that exact motel/hotel. Is the chinese all you can eat still next door? Did you eat at Giordano's pizza place?

Posted

I'm so excited! I can't wait until he talks about Wendy's. We were jizzing about it last night.

FLORIDE. I have such an urge.

P.s that hotel is the best deal I've ever heard.

Aaaaahhhyyyeeeeee. :D

Yes it is still next door. We didn't go unfortunately. I wanted to, but there is just too much choice in things to do (plus we doubled a few places like TGI and Olive Garden)

And also we did not have Giorganos. This was actually debated and researched immensely. We saw the menu and picture in the pack and the Pizza looked (to me) scary and terrifying (as a pizza lover) with the huge amount of filling, and the tomato sauce on top. I wasn't sure if I would like that kind of setup so we discussed it and I also looked online at reviews. There were a few "best pizza I've ever had" most were "Meh" and there were a few "horrible" so we just left it. I wanted to try it though, so....hmmm.

Who is ready for the first park day report? Okay, cool.

GIGANTIC TRIP REPORT AND PHOTOS IN THIS SPOILER BOX.

Although we could have easily fit in things like Dooms Fearfall and Storms Accelerator but simply weren't really interested. :)

Wait...

You didn't do Dr.Doom's Fearfall?

I didn't even know it could get any bigger.*

It's so euphoric though. And the theming is good.

And Cat In The Hat is fun. Once. And my sister and I have lolstagia about Storm, so we always did that, but yeah, it's just teacups.

*That's what she said.

(Doom is 150 feet)

For example Molly has been on one that is 400. Well...one that goes down instead of pushes up.

I find the up ones VERY fun (Ice Blast at Blackpool - 200feet) and I find the down ones not fun at all, and I don't even go on them (Detonator - 100 feet and Apocalypse at Drayton Manor - 180 feet)

Incidentally, a company wants to build another park in Orlando called "Orlando Thrill Park" with LOADS of thrill rides, including a Strato-Coaster (roller coaster over 400 feet) which would be one of these;

(Are you talking about Ice Blast....because it is themed. Around the Tango Drink Ice Blast)

Proof that it is themed;

See, its even got the logo! And its coloured white and red! Because there is an Ice Blast flavour in those colours......

(Unless you're talking about something else)

Doom Fearfall is absolutely awesome fun!! I loves it!!

Yep, HULK is incredible... good man for getting front row! Yes the start is AWESOME!! :D

Harry Potter Castle... yep brilliant!!

Although I HATE it when the spiders squirt water at you!! such a horrible sensation!

Did you notice you face projected on the dry ice 'waterfall' aswell?

Dragons... Yes the Queue's for this can be a fucking pain!! The problem being (sorry if you mentioned it) that they have to wait for both coasters to be ready before launching them together, and nearly EVER time people get on them there seems to be a problem somewhere, so the time just builds and builds!!

EDIT: Re-read, you did mention that.

Also... The Harry Potter area is WAY too crowded.

Didn't get front on Hulk, thats just the photo editting skillz of the park. :p

And yeah the face on the fog thing was like "Waitta minute that looks like...OH MIGODDDD" too amazing.

And yeah, its ridiculous on Dragon. I assume they were running more than one train when you went?

Damn that whole photo setup had me tricked! :D

Yeah they were running two, but might as well of been one! Seriously, by the time the coasters gone all the way round, they're no further along with getting the next one ready. It's possibly the most shambolic queue I've been in.

Its a real shame because B&Ms are some of the easiest coasters to batch. Bad batching is solely down to staff. (And of course running one train......ugh)

Next park is Magic Kingdom.....

I was talking about Orlando Thrill Park.

Oh right. Yeah it doesn't sound like its going to be heavily themed. In their defence though, the type of rides and park that they are building, theme isn't going to be important.

I'm not saying that theming isn't important, but their mission isn't to create a Disney or Universal, its a pure high thrills experience (and besides, theme gets less important the faster you go,.....not always true, but if I don't stop typing now I'd go on for paragraph after paragraph)

What I'm saying is, the only kind of theme that could enhance (specifically) an Intamin Accelerator Coaster (the one pictured) would cost millions and millions and millions.

(There is only so much you can do with this;)

Incidentally Paj, did you say you've never gone to Busch. Because next time you go to Florida, you are going there.

Posted

Yeah I know - considering I've gone so many times, never been to Busch gardens. I definitely will next time. First few times I went to Floride I didn't want to do any coasters or anything, and only realised Busch was supposedly great last time.

And I really just meant that the fact there would exist an unthemed park amongt the themey ones would lower the tone. But then again, could feasibly attract a lot of people if the rides were purely extreme.

Not as bad as Magic Kingdom at night. But yeah. Its not bad in terms of tolerance though, like I found it fine, I could understand why they were all there etc etc.

As for Magic Kingdom....wow. I went online afterwards to find out what their capacity is and I found various posts along the lines of "About 25,000 more than what it should have been".

I'll get into it more in the actual report but it took over an hour to get from the park exit to our car, in the car park.

I'm scared to say. Cause you clearly have your own opinion waiting to explode.

Okay cool. I'll wait until that report to explain. (Which is the first Friday)

I may start writing my Magic Kingdom report soon. Although I have dinner, TV and Uncharted to content with soon. Also photo uploading, NE catch upping and general internet catch upping.

Gave me an excuse to finally upload this short video...

That's only the opening 30secs mind, but The July 4th fireworks were the best I've EVER EVER seen by a clear mile!!

They had fireworks exploding in the shape of Mickeys head... and even hearts I think!

I've never seem patriotism like it though... it all got a little bit wierd (I think Paj, or someone mentioned something similar in a different thread) with all the different america theme tunes playing along aswell.

BRILLIANT though! :D
