Pokemon Red, Blue & Yellow (3DS Virtual Console)

They should come with the Dodrio mode from Pokemon Stadium.

Think they may hold off for NX for Stadium. It'd be easier due to shared OS etc. between handheld and console and the cloud save system they showed at the investor meeting, so they can just grab the save (with a game selection option at start) to emulate the Transfer Pak.

It was always the same for me and my youngest brother, I'd have Blue so he'd have Red, I bought Gold on import and he went for Silver... we still do the same thing to this day although neither of us get to play the games as much as we'd like but we still buy them.

I went for Pokémon X as well while my brother bought Pokémon Y but at least they are still the same games - mostly - whichever version you buy, I think it's good to go for different versions if you live in the same household as it's fun to play along and compare progress in addition to the trading/battling as well; though this time with the VC re-releases of R/B/Y trading with my younger brother might be a bit difficult as he has recently moved out but... I suppose it just means that we can both catch the version exclusive Pokémon still and just trade when he comes back home to visit.

Yes, I do indeed remember you from the stream, it was a lot of fun for me too watching you all play through all those Kirby games! Of course I did try to play along while Kirby 64 was being played but I had no chance in keeping up as it my first proper play of the game but it was still a lot of fun and it was nice that you all managed to raise a bit for charity as well. I still can't believe its been four months since Satoru Iwata's untimely passing though.

I do think he'd have been glad to see the original Pokémon games released on the VC though, here's hoping we get Gold, Silver and Crystal as well to honour his programming skills. : peace:

^_^ Yeah they're the same game for the most part at least! XD That's true! In the end it's just convenient to have both games int the same house...That and it's handy for Glen since one of us will have the game he's missing! It's always fun to have someone to play with and compare. When ORAS came out Glen and I played through it with a team of Pokemon we wouldn't normally use. It was actually really fun. I had no idea what I was going to be stuck with, and since we both took on the challenge it gave the game a different feel. Even though he's recently moved out there's still wifi too! Although having that to look forward to on visits from your little brother would be nice too! Not forgetting that little hit of nostalgia trading locally.

8D i'm so glad that you had fun on the stream! We were about 4 hours late starting and we didn't plan anything till that morning, XD But it seemed to go well! AH! YES! I remember that you were playing along with us! XD Glen was just playing too fast ( ironically on the slowest Kirby game. ) But i'm just glad that it was fun! 8D I'm honestly still shocked how much money was raised in the end! It would be great getting the group back together and hunting again! I normally work early mornings so evenings are usually free. Though my work shifts aren't exactly set...That and they like to change the rota without warning T_T.

I thought you preferred Blastoise to Charizard anyway though? Oh wait, these are digital games, so box art doesn't matter anymore.

Oh well, we'll just do what every family did before you could breed starters, use each others games and cheat our way to getting all three starters before even getting one badge! (Except for that one guy who gets Yellow, who won't really be helping at all. Due to there being Pokemon in that game that can't be caught without trading with Red and Blue.)

Well, I played through Blue quite recently, so no way I'm getting that.

I reckon @Dcubed's gonna get both Yellow and Red. Because he's mad.

I'd probably get just Yellow, because I don't have as much disposable income as I'd like to have.

What if they made an app that transferred them to Pokemon Bank and just randomised the IVs, natures and reset the EVs, but kept the nicknames, moves and items (there aren't any in G/S/C that are inaccessible in Gen 6 are there? Mail? - They could always just disallow Pokemon that are carrying mail )

Or they could just release an update for Poke Transporter and just integrate said function into that...

Either way I reckon that it should be possible if they wanted to, even if it isn't a perfect 1-1 copy (I'm sure most people who are transferring won't care much about EVs/IVs anyway - I mean, those Pokemon all generally would suck in competitive play anyway :p ) Would be pretty awesome to finally be able to move those Pokemon from the old school GB/GBC games over!

It's going to sound like I'm moaning just for the sake of moaning but here goes...

I'm guessing I wasn't the only person who had Red & Blue along with two Game Boys when they were originally released. Now, because there's no proper account system for Nintendo, even though I have more than one 3DS I can't transfer between the two games if I buy them both digitally. I know this would be applicable to every 3DS Pokemon game that has been released digitally but they all have GTS access which these won't.

Japan is getting some pretty sweet bundles for the game release.

Each bundle includes a code for game, a code for Mew ( apparently it's for both the VC game and ORAS ), Pokemon stickers, a unique 2DS theme and the region map.

I hope we get something similar over here!

Just to clarify, there's no code for Mew. That piece of paper is just a Trade Ticket that you can use at certain stores during a certain time period to trade for Mew. As in, you have to physically go to the location, meet a real human being in person, give them a real ticket printed on a real piece of paper, and trade with them in real life using local wireless.

 

There is no code. There is no magic way to get Mew. It's just trading for it like it's the 90's guys.

Na, they're just standard 2DSs. Buttons are that colour because they also match the colours of the games
