Me too. Presumably you can't get the free PS plus game on PS4?

You can add the Vita/PS3 games to your account and play them on those systems if you own them, but you can't play them on the PS4 directly.

Finished Far Cry:Blood Dragon (PS3) this afternoon. It's a game I've been wanting to play for a while and thanks to PS+ I got it as part of this months offerings.

The game is genuinely hilarious. It's very aware of itself and constantly pokes jokes at video games and movies. The 80s action and sci-fi references are fantastic and constantly had me chuckling away to myself. Michael Biehn does a fantastic job of adding to the 80s feel and hams up his lines quite nicely. Doing the Rambo screaming while firing a mini gun = cheesy grin from me.

Special mention has to go to the soundtrack. Again, it's sooooo 80s action flick and there's certain themes that play that could easily have been ripped out of any one of Arnie or Slys films.

Finally, the final section of the game had me in stitches. If you're a fan of Rocky IV and aren't too bothered about seeing the mission then give this a watch. :D

Brilliant!

Thanks for reminding me about this game (hadn't even purchased any of this months PS+ titles yet! :o) I had a quick go on it last night, and sure enough it was hilarious!

Not watched the vid you posted, but having pissed myself to the introduction of the game, I'm sure it's gonna be great. :awesome:

Got the Platinum trophy on Star Wars: Battlefront yesterday.

Fantastic game that I have played way too much over the last 2 weeks.

I'm not usually someone who cares about gamerscore and trophies but as I kept unlocking them and got closer and closer to 100%, I thought why not have a go at it.

Helped that I was playing it with @Hero\-of\-Time most nights so I could get his advice on certain trophies. The Walker Assault trophies were a right pain to get as I hate that mode so much.

I am in need of a little break from it now.

Next up, getting the Platinum trophy on Driveclub which is going to take a while.

I've been in a phase of "play games casually, don't try too hard to reach the end", and I've ended up completing a game whose heyday was years ago:

Plants vs Zombies

(Game of the Year)

Title was unclear, didn't understand conflict

Everybody knows this game, no use in me describing it. A Tower Defense that's pretty fun, colourful, addictive, goal-oriented, etc. and manages to stay fresh throughout the whole thing. The version I played on Steam had plenty of achievements, and I got them all before declaring the game "complete".

I had a disliking to the Tower Defense genre games in the past, since they're usually endless and/or have incredibly easy goals, but decided to give this one a shot. Surprisingly appropriate for the schedule I've had recently, so it's a genre I'll be paying more attention to in the future. Maybe.

I finally got the Platinum for Rocket League today! That Far, Far Away trophy kept holding me back. I let @Eenuh take over my controller for a bit whilst I showered. I had her just driving around the track, trying to rack up the miles. A bit gutted that the trophy popped up when she was doing it, but I did the other 99% of the work towards this trophy, so it's still mine.

The game is awesome. Fun as fuck! Just a blast in multiplayer and it's also excellent pick up and play stuff. Would recommend to everyone.

I've only got two trophies left for DriveClub. One is to achieve level 50 and I'm currently 45. The other should pop up before it, so that should be another platinum on the way. :D

Another game completed in quick succession. Well, I say completed, I mean that I've completed the campaign in Sound Shapes.

I like this game a lot. The Beck level "Cities" is sublime and it's a fantastic contribution to this game. The DeadMau5 levels are quite tricky and they're not quite as fun or as catchy as the Beck ones. The level creator is a welcome addition and I also ended up buying the additional sound packs for this, too. :D

I decided to play Grow Home, after @Fierce_LiNk told me to give it a try. I finished it today, but I can't say I really enjoyed it much. The controls just feel too loose and ropy, making your character move in every direction but the one you want him to actually move into. I cursed so many times as BUD fell off a platform as I was trying to maneuver around it, or as he fell of a vine I was trying to climb cause the camera wasn't aligned with his movement...

The game started out ok but it soon got pretty boring/tedious, just climbing up (falling a million times in the process) and collecting the odd bits. Not even sure why exactly I was doing what I was doing, I think I must have missed some part of the intro that explained it.

I didn't hate the game, but to be honest, I was glad I finished it. And decided I wouldn't bother collecting all the other things I missed. :P

Finished and platinumed Final Fantasy VII (PS4) earlier in the week. Absolute classic game. It's crazy how accessible it is and how goofy it can be sometimes. It's gonna be interesting to see what gets cut and what remains in the remake.

I started playing Dragon Age: Inquisition (PS4) soon after finishing FF. The reason being that I refuse to play The Witcher 3 until this is done. Both games seem similar and this has been sitting on my shelf for too long. Once it's done I will then feel ok about buying The Witcher.

It's my first DA game and i'm really enjoying the game so far. I'm loving just running around the Hinterlands, doing missions, speaking to people, levelling up and closing rifts. There's so much to do!

I like it when I set off to do one thing and then end up finding a cave or something , which sends me doing something completely different. While i'm lacking focus, i'm finding it a great way to keep things fresh.

I ran into my first dragon while randomly running about. Yeah, I pegged it! The thing took my whole team out with one fireball and I quickly turned around and got the hell out of there. Clearly i'm not ready to fight that thing yet!

There's still a lot to take in and it's slow going as i'm playing on Nightmare difficulty. Currently sitting on 10 hours played and level 7. I was hoping to get more done on it while I had a holiday from work but sadly this didn't happen.

2 more games for my diary, Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon and FAST Racing NEO.

Blood Dragon was most entertaining due to its full-on cheesy 80's vibe. :D Gameplay-wise I thought it was pretty crappy, but definitely worth playing just to enjoy the gags/references though (for those of us that are old enough to get them that is ;)).

Also took FAST Racing NEO for a spin this month. Gorgeous looking game that's also very challenging! I would've preferred a bit more content really, and some basic stat tracking could've gone a long way to making the online mode more appealing. However, considering the size of the development team and the price of the game, it's a nice addition to the Wii U library.

I've got 16 straight days off work from Saturday, and only have about 3 evenings when I'm at home and available to play games. I are sad!

My backlog increases yet again!

Just finished Tearaway Unfolded. Overall, not too bad. Have to admit, it did lose some of the shine of the original game. But none the less, it was a great game. Felt new in many places, even though it was the same story as the Vita edition.

After 76 hours of playing, Dragon Age:Inquisition (PS4) is complete and the platinum trophy mine.

Loved it. I'm not really a fan of western RPGs but i'm glad I stepped out of my gaming comfort zone and gave this a whirl. The characters and story really helped to pull me into the world, despite me never playing a DA game before.

@Hero\-of\-Time, now that you've finished Dragon Age, you should leave it a while before you start on The Witcher 3. I feel that the games may be too similar.

Soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooon, @Blade.....sooon.

I've been playing BOXBOY! (3DS) on and off for the past few days. I snapped it up just after I bought Cloud for SMash Bros. as I had enough left over for it. I was hoping that it would be on sale back in november ( it was for the Yanks ) but sadly it never happened.

I finished it this morning...

...and really enjoyed it. Its certainly a fun little puzzler and new ideas kept coming throught the whole game, which helped keep it feeling fresh. BoxBoy himself was a surprsingly charming character, despite him just being a box with eyes. But then, HAL managed to make people to care about a pink circle with eyes as well. :D

After that I decided to give Bayonetta (Wii U) another go.

I've finaly made some great progress on the game! It's only taken me three attempts to do so.

I think i'm on the 11th chapter and having looked it seems there's only 16 chapters in the game. I didn't realise it was so short. Maybe I will finally finish the game. :heh:

I'll leave my thoughts about it until I have beaten it. If I keep cracking on then I should have it done this afternoon.

@Hero\-of\-Time

Yes!!! Finally!!! :D :D you'll probably get the platinum before I do too! Haha!

Also dont forget to download all the free DLC!

A big reason why I never finished the game was due to how much I detested Bayonettas character. I really disliked her cocky, arrogant attitude and this was enough to turn me off the game. This time I just pushed through it all and I actually ended up liking her character by the end of the game. This is due to some great character growth, which showed a more caring side to her.

Yes! That explains everything!

I was utterly baffled as to why you disliked Bayonetta. But hearing this has cheered me up no end!

I'm very pleased you stuck through, because Bayonetta is a truly wonderful game with great humour, characters and stonkingly good gameplay.

Looking forward to seeing what you think of 2. I personally enjoyed it even more.

@Hero\-of\-Time, great to see you finally getting through Bayonetta (and hopefully Bayo2 as well :)) I always had the feeling that if you got into the game more it'd eventually win you over, did try to let you know too. :hehe:

Anyway, looks like I'll be updating my diary again after all, as the credits rolled on Just Cause 3 yesterday! :awesome:

What an entertaining game, and easily the best sandbox title I've ever played. The amount of stuff you can do by combining all of Rico's tools is just incredible. icon14.gif

It's also a game that pushes the PS4 to its limit! Once you start getting creative (i.e. silly) with the chaos, it's pretty much destroying the console!

For example, I filled a truck up with about a dozen bodies + other random stuff :heh: but with so many physics based objects in a confined space the frame rate took such a huge hit! Literally single figures per second it looked like! :D

I'm amazed the engine even allows for that. You'd expect some objects to vanish over time, but it seems like there's no limitations in place! :o

Anyway, I fully liberated the map before finishing the story, but still got quite a few collectibles to obtain and challenges left to do, not to mention just messing around with the citizens of Medici some more.

Just a shame there's no option to change the appearance of Rico, as I'm not a fan of how they made him look like Diego Costa in this version.

I'm a not a big fan of Bayonetta the character, but I enjoy the game. I'm find with her being in Smash though for some reason.

Which reminds me I should play through Bayonetta 2...

You've always given the impression that you dislike the character of Bayonetta just as much as I, @Hero\-of\-Time, so it's slightly encouraging that you managed to get past that in order to enjoy the first game. I never really embraced the demo of Bayonetta 2 so have never been particularly interested in it but given that I've made some questionable Wii purchases over the course of 2015, I've tempted to trade them in towards Bayonetta 2 in order to give it a proper go :heh:

I would recommend playing the original game first.

I finished Bayonetta 2 (Wii U) yesterday.
