News: Guitar Hero Confirmed for Wii

Posted by Nathan Whincup - Mar 23rd 2007 16:05

NGamer have revealed in their latest issue that Guitar Hero will be hitting the Wii.

Though we had confirmation of some sort last year in Activision's report that Guitar Hero would be hitting 'all next-gen consoles', we now have information about the game's existence on Wii. No date is yet known, but here is the little article from the May issue of NGamer:

"Cult rhythm game Guitar Hero is on its way to Wii. It comes with a guitar-shaped controller and plays convincingly enough to make you think you're making real music. Hopefully we'll get the actual guitar, and not a pretend remote/nunchuk version."

They seemed to contradict themselves a bit there, but remember that they broke the news about Wii Twilight Princess.

Stay tuned for more on this.

Awesome. Hope it's a new one, not a port since I already I have them for PS2 :P

A port is most likely.

The 360 one is a port with downloadable content in the form of new songs so maybe thats a possible?

Morrison: that would be an AWESOME, intelligent and down right cool addition to the Wii version, which alongside a wireless Guitar, would make it THE best version.

And that's exactly why Nintendo WON'T be doing that.

The Wii is Nintendo's best console yet, so obviously they WILL be doing it, they're getting sensible
