E3 2007: Official European Release Dates

Posted by Conor - Jul 11th 2007 22:31

The dates are in! No Smash Bros. or Mario Kart for 2007, but Mario Galaxy makes it.

Yes, that's right. The Americans get Brawl in December, but we have to wait. To be fair, we still have Metroid Prime 3, Mario Galaxy, Super Paper Mario and BWii 2 on the Wii, and the latest Advance Wars on the DS, so we won't be bored. But still. Ouch. Full dates listed below.

Wii Dates:

  • Big Brain Academy for Wii (Nintendo) 20th July 2007
  • Trauma Center: Second Opinion (Nintendo / Atlus) 10th August 2007
  • Super Paper Mario (Nintendo) 14th September 2007
  • Metroid Prime 3 Corruption (Nintendo) 26 October 2007

  • Wii Fitness (Nintendo) 2008
  • Mario Kart Wii (tentative title) (Nintendo) 2008
  • Super Smash Bros. Brawl (Nintendo) 2008

I'm glad the pushed Brawl end Mario Kart until 2008. With Super Paper Mario, Corruption, Galaxy and Trauma Centre all coming out in the next 5 months I have more than enough to play in 2007. Good to know that there will be some great games in 2008 as well. Then there will not be half a year without any games as the one we are experiencing right now...

Battalion Wars 2 (Nintendo) Q4 2007
Advance Wars 2 (Nintendo) Q4 2007
Both are Q4! Which might that there will be some sort of connectibility between them! Which means... AMMAGADD, 3D Sami and Rachel.

At least we have some good games coming out :)
Now only if I could afford them...

But I'm still wondering why it takes almost a year to get Trauma Centre, a LAUNCH title in America, to come out in Europe

This is great, after E3 i was a little annoyed, but this makes it up. Super Paper Mario, Metroid, Tingle RPG AND Phantom Hourglass is great.

I was originally gonna import but I might wait now. My local shop will probably have it in.

@Meta_Omega Advance wars and Battalion Wars are developed by different people and are not part of the same series so it won't happen.

Our dates are RUBBISH.

Pokémon so far away?...And Fire Emblem doesn't even make an appearence.
And surely Resident Evil doesn't take that much translation....Give a date!!!

I LIKE this list a lot.

Super Paper mario makes me happy, as does Mario Galaxies. Its a shame we get SPM so damned late though, Americs DID get that ages ago, but oh well!

I might import Phantom Hourglass if it comes out much earlier in the US.

@ KingNL - these are OFFICIAL release dates, if theyre not real, then NINTENDO have a lot to answer for!

OK, Advance Wars 2 really did come out of nowhere, and with that, the list looks mighty tasty. Galaxy plus all the others are just fantastic, but it is a shame about SBM, and were we really expecting MK this year?

Mario Galaxy this year? Awesome. Hopefully Mario Kart and Brawl won't be too far behind.

Out of all of those dates, the only one I like is Zelda: Phantom Hourglass. It's actually a specific date and only a couple of weeks after the US release, which is EXACTLY how it should be. However, I do have the suspicion that the only reason for them bothering to give us Zelda DS is because we can easily import it.

I'm sorry Broch83, do you live in Europe? Do you like Nintendo games? Then you should be annoyed too. After all their promises and the effort Nintendo made with getting us the Wii not long after the rest of the world they immediately revert to their old ways and start denying us their games. I didn't buy my Wii to play Harry Potter, I bought it for Super Paper Mario, Metroid Prime 3 etc.

SPM five months late? Metroid Prime 3 two months late? Trauma Center nine months? This isn't good enough. And no, Mario Strikers isn't a consolation prize. Super Smash Bros would be.

Also, am I right in thinking that "Q4 2007" does not necessarily mean this year? That Fourth Quarter can mean any time up until March?

Well... I guess the good thing about Metroid Prime 3 being that far off is that I have a ton of stuff to finish for the 15th of October anyway. :-/
