News: Unofficial iPlayer App Launched Online

Click inside to find out an easier way to watch iPlayer content...

WiiPlayer is an alternative method for viewing BBC iPlayer content on the Wii. While the BBC iPlayer website does works on the console's Internet Channel, the unnofficial WiiPlayer undoubtedly gives a more streamlined and easier-to-use experience over all.

Try it for yourself by pointing your Wii's browser to defaced.co.uk/wiiplayer (the link won't work on PCs, and you'll still need to be a UK resident to access the content). More info on the project can be found on the official site here.

The presentation is very nice, it's a lot better than the actual iPlayer website, but there's still the issue of loading times for longer programmes. I can't watch hour-long programmes on Wii without them stopping after 40 minutes to buffer constantly.

That looks half decent, that does. It would still be nice to have a proper iPlayer Channel though.

The British Broadcasting Corporation should allow worldwide viewers to see the proper British high-quality programing, so those iffy foreigner-folk will be educated into the real way television programing should be done. what what.

Watch your language Lenin. This isn't the place to be calling a nation of people such, even if you do think it is just in jest. You have been warned.

I'm not trying to be controversial, it just annoys me that these paddies want to steal content that we have to pay for.

Having said that though, anyone who actually pays for a TV license is fucking stupid.

not all Irish are 'paddys' like you say, and saying that is a bit insulting as it sounds very rude and almost like saying we are uncivilized, and from what Ive heard from you, I know I'm more civilized than you.
