News: New Disaster: Day of Crisis Titbits

Following on from the screenshot blowout, some new information has emerged from the German Disaster: Day of Crisis game page...

As we reported a few minutes ago, Nintendo of Europe have launched the game page for Disaster: Day of Crisis, suggesting that the game is edging closer and closer to a definite release.

Some rather extensive details have been revealed on Nintendo's German game page for Disaster. Here's a translation, kindly provided by N-Europe reader Konfucius:

"Ex-US-Marine Raymond Bryce will drive, swim, run and shoot through 23 sections, while they are being destroyed by volcanos, tsunamis, hurricanes, floods and earthquakes. Furthermore he'll have to fight a dubious terrorist organisation called SURGE.

Ray will have to find fresh air when his lungs are filled with smoke and he'll have to eat to regain his strength. The player will have to save citizens from various dangerous situations and even apply first-aid measures. He'll also have to defuse bombs and whatnot using the Wii-mote and nunchuck."

The game page also promises lots of unlockable content and a cinematic story. Stop teasing us, Nintendo, and announce the release date!

Not going to lie but I probably wont get this. Although the game sounds very promising and great.

Hopefully its not another Alone In the Dark...probably not seeing as how long they have been making it.

The lack of proper publicity for this could almost suggest Nintendo are looking for something to bomb so they have an excuse to say that hardcore games are not Wii gamers' highest priority.

Rumoured, I mentioned it in the previous article.

D_prOdigy they need no excuses, smash, mario etc, all sold great and more than in GC, and why would a company want an excuse for not making more money?

Thing is... this is a stand alone game without a pre-established game, I mean, on this team's case... they didn't advertise Baten Kaitos Origins either, it wasn't just meant to sell in the millions.

But, if you don't have Baten kaitos Origins, run to the closest ebay and order it!

It was a healthy injection of cynacism on my part; of course they want this to do well.

But I am merely confuzzled as to the sheer minisculity of the coverage the game has gotten. They announced it in 2006, and have never even spoken its name since. Now all this rushing screens out and a seemingly imminent release suggests to me that Nintendo just want this out of their hair and forgotten with.

I was hoping this Monolith purchase would mean Baten Kaitos and Origins would receive Wiimakes with more Nintendo publicity, looks like that's unlikely though.

It's Nintendo's new stance to release games with very few coverage. This applies only to games that obviously are going to sell only to a niche anyway, which is why there wasn't a lack of info for Mario Kart, Brawl or Galaxy for example

This isn't an American website, the word is "titbits".

Actually these games are based off of games that use to be on PS2. I can't remember the name of the previous games but I have seen video of someone playing them on Youtube. But I am sure if you knew the Creators name or go to the Monolith WP you could find them.

They were pretty interesting.

@Pepsiman

Begging your pardon, but I don't know what you just said.

Anyway, if this game is as good as it could be, let us hope that it doesn't go the way of The World Ends With You, publicity-wise at least. I still think TWEWY could have sold millions if Square-Enix had just marketed it a bit.
