News: Monolith Back To Work, RPG In Development

Nintendo second party, Monolith Soft, recently confirmed their next game will see a return to their genre forte.

With Disaster: Day of Crisis pretty much cleaned up and booted out the door, developer Monolith Soft have spoken to Gamekyo about their plans for the future.

With such class as the Baten Kaitos and Xenosaga brands to their name, gamers will no doubt be filled with glee to hear that Monolith's next game will see the company back to their RPG roots. Producer Tadashi Nomura confirmed this nugget of info in a soon-to-published interview.

No further details of the game is apparent at this time. What would you like to see in the RPG? Or do you perhaps merely yearn for a western release of Soma Bringer? Share your thoughts below...

Either Mario RPG 2 or something like the original Mario RPG.

Nintendo will know these guys are RPG experts and so probably won't give them something like Mario RPG 2 to do. I'm hoping it's a new Baten Kaitos because, regardless of whether people like it or not, it'd work well on the Wii with the pointer in battles.

I sure wouldn't shy away from a new Baten Kaitos :) I'm curious what they have up their sleeve..

i wouldn't mind a new rpg franchise rather than > sequel of anything. unless camelot announce golden sun on wii or ds that is.

Disater is an absoulte disaster scoring 7.75/10 from Famitsu. Another 8/10 Baten Kaitos game would be ok, but not so for sales. Need a Final Fantasy competitor.

As alway, topping the relevance of Sol's input will be hard.

Anyway, this just might be a new Xeno-something game. I probably won't care much in that case, but I know a lot who will.
