News: Nintendo and Sakurai Team Up

Nintendo and Masahiro Sakurai band together and form a new company...

A recent announcement has surfaced that Kirby and Super Smash Bros. creator, Masahiro Sakurai has formed a new first party company with Nintendo named Project Sora. Along with this announcement, it got revealed that Project Sora currently has a project under way.

There's little news about the project, though Iwata said "“It’s not Smash Bros. I asked for. …I can promise an experience that’s different from anything [you’ve played] up until now.” With someone as talented as Sakurai working under Nintendo, perhaps a new IP is in order?

This is really interesting, we can assume he's not involved with the new Mario and Zelda if they're already in production then...

Btw, kinda off-topic but http://www.nintendo.com/whatsnew/detail/Q5D4ti_bPqJO_I0Oup0AMFudaUOLz6C7 - the DSi is being launched in the US on 5 April. That's fine, but does that say BLUE and black????

@VaatiKaiba - yes, Nintendo America has confirmed that the launch colours will be blue and black. Some images are here:

Thankfully Nintendo Europe pretty much confirmed we'd get white and black when they posted images back in October.
