Rewatch Nintendo World Championship 2017

The Nintendo World Championship is now in its third year following its revival in 2015 (and still hasn't quite grasped what 'world' means) and this year's featured challenges from recent titles such as The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, old games such as Mario Party 2 and even the soon-to-be-released Super Mario Odyssey.

Of course, the games were a surprise to participants and viewers and we wouldn't like to spoil too much, but suffice to say it shows off Nintendo's diverse history pretty well.

Nintendo focused on titles that were easy to explain and fun to watch.  Speaking to IGN Nintendo of America's Senior Product Marketing Manager Bill Trinen said the following:

“We really want to focus in on games that make sense, the competition rules make sense, there's a clear objective. It's easy for a fan to understand what people have to do, it's easy for the player to understand what they have to do, but it's still a game that's fun to play and one that is fun to watch.”

You can watch the full five hour tournament below and relive the excitement and fun from the night.
