Having suffered limbo for over four years after its initial reveal, Rodea: The Sky Soldier has finally been confirmed for a release.

You'll be forgiven for forgetting the game's premise. It's the latest creation of Yuji Naka, of Sonic Team fame, who as well as leading the programming on the original Sonic the Hedgehog, was responsible for the cult classic NiGHTS Into Dreams.

And Rodea indeed has a bit of the NiGHTS about it, letting you play as the titular soldier who must acrobatically fly and fight as you protect the kingdom of Garuda.

Rodea: The Sky Soldier is getting its western release courtesy of NIS America. It is now releasing on Wii U, 3DS, and Wii, and will land towards the end of 2015.
