Virtual Bowling

All Virtual Boy Games #20: Virtual Bowling

For how small the Virtual Boy’s library is, it’s quite astonishing that it got two bowling games, and that each was exclusive to a different region, with Virtual Bowling being a Japanese exclusive. The controls are pretty simple. You aim, then stop a metre to set an angle and then a golf-life slider to determine power and accuracy, although the power can be a little bit difficult to judge.

It’s a decent bowling game with some nice animations, however the pins just kind of awkwardly flop over and it feels like none of them actually interact with each other. So while it’s decent enough, it never feels like you’re in control of what happens.

Remake or remaster?

There’s plenty of bowling games.
