Developers get developing

It seems that in this past two weeks a tirade, well maybe a handful, of developers have confirmed that they are now making games for the Revolution; some are indeed to be released this very year.

So far the list has grown to include such companies as the great THQ with their announcement of Cars, based on the Pixar movie of the same name. Midway have a so far un-announced project and Natsume have also pointed out their intentions and hopefully that means we will get another rendition of Harvest Moon series. The developers behind spectral shooterGeist, n-space, have also shown interest, but as to whether we will get another Geist or something similar is so far unknown.

Also announced recently was that not only are Crossbeam Studios bringing Orb to the Revolution but also they are busy under way making their second game, named Thorn. The game is based in the future and seems to contain a 'gripping story line that will keep you hooked for ages'. To find out more go to here. Even more exciting is the latest news on the 'DS games that would be great on the Revolution' front; Atlus' surgery simulation Trauma Center is due to jump ship from the handheld to the next-gen home console, according to IGN sources. Nintendo's touchable DS is full of titles that would translate to the 3D mouse of the Revolution with ease - hopefully we'll see more. Check out our Revo Games Radar to keep up to date on these developments.

With the release of these announcements came a huge smile on my face as I slowly but surely saw an increase in the number of companies who are more than happy to get their hands on the Revolution. This can only inspire thoughts of what we will see from these companies, what next gen killer applications they can develop and what interesting twists they can achieve with the controller. Only time will tell. If you have a theory then don't be shy to share with me, send all your ideas to the e-mail at the bottom of the article.

>After what seems a fairly short wait since the DS Lite was announced, it took to the shelves of Japan's stores and then promptly flew off faster than when they were first stocked. It was initially sold in Crystal White, since Nintendo had production problems with the other two colours, set to be available a week later. For photos of the launch click here.
>In line with the sold out DS Lite comes a polite apology from Nintendo of Japan. It all sums up as them saying sorry for the delay on the other two colours of DS Lite and expressing their sincerest regrets for all the shipping and supply difficulties. I think its safe to say that if things had gone to plan, Nintendo would be making one hell of a profit at the moment.
>If you have heard of WiFiKarts then you will be in for a surprise as the creators of WiFiKarts bring to you WiFiGamers, the next step up for playing your DS online. The site will allow you to register and become a member of a league. Not just that but if you sign up to the WiFiGamersElite then you will be in with a chance of winning some cool prizes, head here www.wifigamers.co.uk to find out more.
>More DS news as Nintendo has confirmed that the next batch of 'proper' Pokemon titles, Diamond and Pearl, will be available in Japan at sometime before the end of the year. Best guess is around the holiday period where it will undoubtedly destroy all other competition.

- Do you like Star Wars? So, do you like Lego? If so then why not go talk about the Lego Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy here.
