Part 1

This game hasn't been out long in the PAL region but is already causing a stir with a lot of you having trouble with you so here are my Top Tips on how to permanently put those zombies to ground.

When you first start a new game the answer to the question given about hiking and mountain climbing is to determine the difficulty of the game, how many zombies there are, how much ammo is available and so on. Choosing the first answer about mountain climbing will see you face a harder game than normal, with extra zombies yet less ammo. Alternatively choosing the hiking answer will see you enter a much easier challenge where ammo can be used to its full potential and the zombie count goes down.

Which character to choose?
There are two main characters in the game that you have the choice of playing as. Jill Valentine and Chris Redfield. Jill is the ideal choice for your first play as she can carry more items than Chris can. This is great as its means you can carry more weapons and ammo as well as having room to pick up those all important items required for solving puzzles. Jill also carries a lock pick, which doesn't take up and inventory space, which makes it easier for exploring the mansion.

Now Chris is for the more confident and experienced players. Chris cannot carry as many items, 6 to be exact, but Chris does carry a lighter that doesn't take up an inventory space, similar to Jill's lock pick. When playing as Chris you need to take a different approach to the game, especially if attempting it on the harder difficulty.

Quick Tips
-Don't kill every zombie, running past them will save valuable ammo and not give you the need to douse them in kerosene or make sure you have blown their head off.
-If you see zombies already on the floor set them on fire with the kerosene and lighter as they will be back as crimson head super zombies, 4 times faster than the normal ones and scarier than ever, after passing by them a few times.
-Always carry at least 2 fully loaded weapons and extra ammo for one of the guns (if playing as Jill carry you can carry ammo for both weapons), as space is needed in your inventory for puzzle solving items.
-Once you done a large part of the game or collected a few items make sure that you save the game. Once you know what you are doing you can save less often.
-The Grenade Launcher. You can fit infinite grenades of the same type in at one time, so make sure you combine them in your inventory.
-EXAMINE ALL OBJECTS that you pick up. In this remake there is more emphasis on this feature.
-Almost all objects picked up have something special about them that is required to progress any further in the game.
-Look for items in a room sparkling. These are important items to pick up in the game. Also use your map. If a room is coloured in green, you have got everything in the room, and if its brown, then keep searching.
-Save ammo for the more powerful weapons like the Magnum, as it is scarce to say the least, yet it is a satisfying blowing a zombies head off in one shot.

Zombie dead or not?
Zombies are the only monsters in the game that can come back in a super form. The Super Zombie, aka, Crimson Head. There are only a few ways to be certain that a zombie is dead for good.
If you blow a zombie head off with the shotgun or a more powerful weapon then he won't be coming back.

If you "kill" a zombie, (goes down and blood spills from it), then it will more than likely come back as a super zombie. So you need to douse it in kerosene from the canteen and watch the baby burn.
Using your defence weapons can be used to put a zombie to rest for good. With Jill if you use the Stun Gun you can set them of fire while they are stunned on the floor. Sneaky hey? Now if you are Chris and using Flash Napalm, you stick the grenade into the zombie's mouth and stand back before letting rip with a single bullet. BOOM. Zombie isn't any more!

Another way to be sure a zombie wont return is to use the Incendiary grenades. This has the same effect as setting them on fire. If you see zombies "dead" on the floor, which you haven't put there, then you can be sure that they are going to return as crimson heads. So it's up to you to douse them in kerosene. But beware, if you go past them enough times, they will awaken and have you for lunch.

Know Your Enemy
There are enough enemies in this game to keep Persil in business for a long time, but were more interested in killing they before they kill you!

Zombie/Super Zombie;
These are the basis of any RE game and can easily be taken out with any gun, just make sure you take off their head to avoid the consequence of a super zombie. These are 4 times faster than normal zombies but don't take much to put them back down, you just need to be quicker than they are.

Cerebus/Dogs;
These are just pains in the arse, over and over again. They are east to take down in corridors with a handgun, but watch out for them in-groups and in open spaces as they are a lot trickier to kill. You are best off using your shotgun in open areas and with groups of them.

Hunter;
These guys are bad, and do a lot of damage for that. Your best tactic is to take these guys out before they see or start running straight for you. Magnum and Acid Grenade Launcher are the best ways to get rid of these terrifying creatures.

Giant Spider;
Don't invite your mum in the room to have a look at these "friendly" spiders, or any female for that matter. Not really too much trouble, but most effective is the Acid Grenade Launcher or Magnum.

Lisa Trevor;
What a name hey? This dude is damn near invincible. Your best bet really is too run and saves all your ammo, (which is what I did after wasting all my ammo. Lucky I saved just before hand). If you want to try I am guessing using the Acid Grenade Shells as Barry leaves you a few rounds in the garden shed and a note to say use them on that invincible guy in the cabin.

Chimera;
Buggers buggers and buggers. These monsters can hang from ceiling and crawl about before dropping down and tearing your head off. Again Grenade Launcher is your best bet or magnum. These guys are fast so be very careful.

Tyrant;
This is the biggest, badest, most evil monster on the game. He is the ultimate zombie with a HUGE claw. While in battle with this boss you will get the Rocket Launcher, but before you do just keep shooting him with all you got, and once you get the rocket launcher, one shot and he's a gonner.

What are you waiting for? You have all the helpful hints on how to go about the game, so you have nothing to worry about.

Next week I will be revealing item locations and solutions to some of the tougher puzzles and weapons in the game. If there is anything on this game you want me to cover just send me a mail
