A certain two N-Europe staff members 'discuss' how the current release schedule has been looking of late...
1P:"Should auld acquaintance be forgot..."
1P: A Happy New Year's Eve to you!
2P: Evenin'
1P: :fireworks:
2P: ...?
1P: :fireworks:
2P: Have you been at the New Year cheer again?
1P: They're fireworks! :fireworks:
2P: Really? And there was me thinking they were a Ferrari.
1P: It's New Years, I want a kiss!
2P: I want Super Smash Brothers Brawl, but that's not going to happen now, is it?
1P: Are you still blathering on about the "Disappointing Holiday Line-Up?" we have Mario! Isn't that enough for you, Ebeneezer?
2P: That's one title. It's a great title, but it's only the one.
1P: How about Metroid?
2P: I completed that ages ago. Didn't you?
1P: Not yet, Galaxy distracted me.
2P: Ah. Can't believe they killed off Samus.
1P: WHAT?!
2P: Haha, joke. Seriously though, what else has the Wii got this holiday season? Mass Effect, Crysis, Unreal Tournament 3
1P: are not on Wii, fine, I get your point.
2P: Then you have Call of Duty 4, Assassin's Creed - whose fans are probably going to have them on another system. What has Nintendo released since Mario? A plastic gun attachment bundled with a target-practice minigame, and a Resident Evil title cobbled together from previous instalments.
1P: I shall take none of your school boy insolence against the Finest Lightgun Game Ever Made (tm)! Resident Evil may feature a story that has been made up from the last games, but the gameplay is tight, the feel is good and the atmosphere is superb.
2P: Eh, it's fun, though it's no Resident Evil 5. I just can't help thinking that Nintendo are resting on their laurels a bit now. The Wii is a massive success, no one can deny it. But they need to maintain momentum. Smash Bros. or even Mario Kart would have helped that.
1P: It's not just "fun", it's brilliant! Oh and back we go to Mario and Metroid - two fantastic games that can't be found on any other system and that are about as hardcore as you can get! Then there's Super Paper Mario, that's a great game! If we'd had Mario Kart and Smash Bros. then there would be absolutely nothing to look forward to next year, and what would you do then? Moan!
2P: Well, I'll be getting Wii Fit next year.. it looks pretty fun. And I think we'll all be needing it this January.
1P: Pff. You already need it, it's one thing to like festive turkey, but to look like one... Anyway, what was I saying? Actually, I'm a bit worried about next year now, what else is there to look forward to? Mario Kart, Brawl and Wii Fat are all nice, but there needs to be more than that. Reassure me!
2P: Hey, if I gave you a red suit and white beard, kids would be queuing up to sit on your knee. Anyway, sounds like you're coming round to my view that the Wii needs more software? :P
1P: Right now, it doesn't. Have you got every star on Galaxy?
2P: To be fair, I'm still loving it a second time playing through as You-Know-Who.
1P: You Know Who...? Voldemort? :P
2P: Oh you crack me up.
1P: Heh. But true, maybe the Wii will need more titles next year. I'm praying for Animal Crossing Wii to be out soon... oh man... so many hours lost on the DS version already. For now though, I think we have just about enough to keep us going until Brawl.
2P: Animal Crossing? Jeez, how long have they been talking about that?
1P: Since before the Wii's release. Damn.
2P: Though I gave up on Wild World after a year.
1P: Really? You didn't wait 'til your second year and get the surprise?
2P: What surprise?
1P: It's what Nook gives you after 18 months without missing a day. You get the second game mode.
2P: The second game mode?
1P: Yeah, they restore Christmas in the calendar and you get well, I don't want to spoil the surprise.
2P: What surprise? Tell me!
1P: You'll just have to play it for 18 months straight without missing a day. Or play for fifteen minutes now and then time travel to midnight on what would be your 18 month anniversary. The second mode should keep you occupied until the big releases next year!
2P: Crikey see you later then.
1P: Hehe Sucker. Ah, dinner time!
2P: I forgot to say, Happy New Year!
2P: Damn you! One of these days
