It is hard to believe that, with a console that features so many great titles it is Just Dance that, time and time again, tops the Wii bestsellers list.

Ubisoft's dancing title has proven to be so popular that Just Dance 4 looks set to release alongside the Wii U later this year.

Just Dance 4 plays exactly like its predecessors. You hold the Wii Remote in one hand and do your best to follow the onscreen dance moves.

The biggest new addition is one that takes advantage of the Wii U GamePad - the 'puppet master mode'. Demonstrated at E3 2012 by Nintendo's own Reggie Fils-Aime, this mode allows you to choose which moves everyone else must emulate.

If you are holding the Wii U GamePad you will be given the option of four different dance moves, complete with a demonstration to help you choose, and you can select them for your friends to do.

This not only provides the more two-left-footed players the chance to join in but also adds a level of uncertainty for those dancing. It is a simple feature but really adds a whole new dimension to the gameplay.  The Just Dance series is on the edge of seeming like nothing more than a cash cow but the puppet master mode injects some fresh life into it.

Those holding the Wii U GamePad can also, from time to time, select poses for the others to perform, ranging from the simple to more complicated (think Matrix bullet-time or cheerleader jumps). More sadistic players will revel in throwing difficult challenges at those dancing and helps add a new atmosphere of competition to the mulitplayer environment.

Unfortunately, in the demo played this mode was only available on 'Moves Like Jagger', although we expect it to be available on all songs featured on Just Dance 4.

The demo also featured a range of songs spanning different genres and decades, which the Just Dance series is known for, but the main focus by those who played was on this puppet master mode.

In reality Ubisoft could have just added new songs and Just Dance 4 would have sold well, but thankfully they've utilised the Wii U GamePad in a clever and enjoyable way and may even encourage more people to join in.
