My thoughts on the 2013 Mario Kart League, as league organiser
It has been a strange 10 months, numbers never really picked up but it didn’t affect the quality of the GPs.
The year started off looking very open but soon turned into a 3 horse race. 3 players stood above all others, Foohad, RedShell & Davy J.
As always I have enjoyed organising the league this year. After all these years I still look forward to updating the league tables every week and see players go up or down the league table. We were never going to top last year in terms of attendance as even last year, the signs were there that certain players were getting bored or frustrated with playing Mario Kart 7 on the 3DS for the 2nd year in a row.
In regard to the 2014 League, from what I have seen so far of Mario Kart 8, it could be the best season yet. Obviously with the game being released in Spring 2014, the league will start later than usual.
Thanks to all 29 players who took part over the last 10 months and extra thanks to those who took photos of the final GP positions each week, making my job a little easier in regards to updating the league tables each week

The League Champion!
So without further drawing out, this years 2013 N-Europe Mario Kart League Champion is F00had, successfully defending his 2012 title in fantastic fashion with another phenomenal year.
He deserves to be a two time champion. After a slow start, he raised his game and was the player to beat once again.
He played over 100 GPs with an 85% attendance record, fully deserving the title – 2013 N-Europe Mario Kart League Champion
Congratulations to a great champion, can he make it 3 years in a row in 2014? Or do you, yes you reading this right now, have what it takes to dethrone him and take the crown?
Here is how the final league table looks at the end of the 2013 Season. Note that this table only shows those players who remained active at the end of the season, players would be considered inactive after missing 4 League Nights in a row but would be reinstated on their return retaining their previously won points average.
How the points system works
If you are in a group with 4, 5, 6 or 7 players. Your points total for a GP will be divided by the number of players in your group then multiplied by 8, which will give you your league points for that GP
Your league points are divided by the number of GPs you have taken part in, giving you your average. This is what determines your position in the league table, so if you do miss a league night, if won’t affect your score but you will most likely change position in the league.
To summarise, if I scored the following points in 6 GPs: 32, 10, 19, 40, 16 & 19
I would have a total of 136 which would be divided by 6 giving me an average of 22.6.
You have to stay active to have a chance of winning the league as you can’t win the league by taking part in say 5 nights then stop taking part as you would be moved to the ‘Inactive Players’ list once you had missed 4 nights in a row.
Looking forward to the 2014 N-Europe Mario Kart League Season!
We are always on the lookout for new members to join the league so if you want to take part for a bit of competitive fun in the 2014 season watch this space and the Online Board at our N-Europe Forums.
There are no set plans at the moment for when the league will start. As we are planning for the 2014 League to be competed through the upcoming Mario Kart 8 on Wii U we obviously must await that games release this coming Spring so expect to here more news on the 2014 N-E Mario Kart League Season shortly after the release of Mario Kart 8. We are also hoping to use Miiverse to advertise the league and hopefully attract a few newcomers to both the site and the league so if you miss news on the 2014 League here we will hopefully catch you on Miiverse!
