Arcade ports can be fickle beasts. Sometimes the necessarily short-and-sweet arcade gameplay translates well, but this is only when the game was fun enough in the first place. Case in point: Crazy Taxi, whose technically poor console games where great fun because of the addictive gameplay.18 Wheeler is, in appearance, quite similar to Crazy Taxi; both are driving-based games, relying on you transporting a cargo. But 18 Wheeler shows its arcade heritage more painfully than CT, offering gameplay that lacks the spontaneity and franticness of its brother. Without an over-sized wheel and truck horn to blast, it's much less fun.
