Game Details: All-Star Baseball 2003
Acclaim's departure may have been met with the usual rib-kicking and unaffectionate farewell messages, but let's not forget the good games their teams were responsible for. The All-Star Baseball series was one of their better runs. And the 2003 iteration of the franchise is widely believed to the most impressive edition, offering the baseball simulation experience with smoothness and tight control. All the expected benefits of the license are present, and the believability is further enhanced by simple, user-friendly play mechanics. It didn't get a peep in in Europe, but fans of the sport on either side of the Atlantic should check this title out. It's not like there's a slurry of worthy baseball titles out there, eh? (Well I wouldn't know, being a European sports apathist and all, but I'd say probably not)
