Original N64europe Review

I know what most of you are thinking, "Harvest Moon 64 is gonna be boring and will get old really fast", well all of you are wrong(DEAD WRONG!). I swear you wont get tired of this game fast. In fact, you probably will never get tired of it(until you beat it).

This game is an RPG, and NO, you don't have magic spells(like in most RPGs) to make your crops grow faster. In this game you have a ton of crops to grow during different seasons. You can also raise cattle and sheep and horses. I know both of these things sound boding, but they are totally fun. It is so weird, because when I plant crops I just can't wait for them to grow so I can pick them. I know it sounds stupid, but I have to tell myself that I am just playing a game(you get so drawn into it). Just like in all RPGs you can talk to all the townspeople. Later on in the game you can see yourself growing older, and you can get married and have kids(a.k.a. settling down). The gameplay is absolutely fabulous in this game. I played the game for 3 hours, but it only felt like 15 minutes(very few games are like that)! You will have so much fun planting crops, selling crops, talking to people, raising cattle, and playing the mini-games. The gameplay doesn't really need hardly any work. There are only minor flaws you won't even notice. The sound fx is okay. It isn't the best I've heard and it isn't the worst I've heard, but it does fit the game(think about it, what can you do to make a farming game sound better-nothing really). The music could definitely use some work. It gets a little old after a while.

The graphics are good for an RPG. They are smooth, and have the look and feel of a Japanese video game. The graphics make you feel like you are playing an RPG that has been converted from Japanese to English. All in all this game is great. I love it, and would recommend buying it. This is one of those games you need to buy and not rent, because when you have to take it back to the place you rented it from you will be sad and cry and roll on the ground and pout and all those other babyish things. Trust me this game doesn't get old.
