Game Details: Micro Machines 64 Turbo

An enhanced port of Micro Machines V3 for the N64

Original N64europe Review

When I first heard this game was coming to the N64 the first thought I had was driving a 2 inch long car over a pool table is fun! It's like being in "Honey I Shrunk the Kids" or something. Everyone has heard of Micro Machines on some console or another. Whether it be the chemistry room table or the kitchen at breakfast or even the beach on a hot day Micro Machines has had a course on all of these terrains and more. I remember the first Micro Machines on the Sega how much fun it was, especially in the multiplayer mode.

That multiplayer mode has also been improved along with the graphics, sound and just about everything else. The multiplayer mode however especially, you can have up to eight players at a time if you can share your joypad with your mate. The only real dissapointment is that theres nothing new only improved. If you've played Micro Machines on the playstation you've seen all the courses on the N64.

This simple but addictive game will have you entertained long after the first time you slot the cart in your N64. The graphics are great but the sound lets it down. Micro Machines is a fun single player game and a great multiplayer game but again if you've played the playstation version you've seen it all before.

Graphics - 8/10 Sound - 4/10 Lifespan - 9/10 Overall - 86%
