Game Details: Monster Truck Madness 64

A monster truck racing game for N64.

Original N64europe review

Lets say that MTM (Monster Truck Maddness) is nothing like any other N64 racing game youve played before. Unlike a Crusin USA or a Nascar 99, this game offers many different types of game play and a fair 2-4 player multiplayer mode. Developed by Edge of Reality, this game is one that features an unbalanced style of play. But, here are some of the little things.....

*More than 20 monster trucks that are the biggest, baddest and coolest looking in the world.

*Two racing modes: Circuit and Exhibition.

*Five multiplayer modes to challenge your buddies too.

*10 bizzare tracks.

*Play-By-Play commentary by Army Armstrong, the voice for Monster Truck racing around the world.

*A limited variety of weather conditions while you drive.

*Different times of day to drive, which affect visibility.

*Cockpit view which is in fairly stunning 3D

*Eight weapon power-ups.

This game was built around the Turok engine which you should be able to realize as soon as you plug this one in. In the game modes, you drive a big, hard to handle truck. The object of the game is to drive between a number of checkpoints taking out as many trucks as possible. With a large number of power-ups this may seem like an easy task, but it is very very easy to misjudge a corner and go sliding off the road. But, its not like this game will totally piss you off and have you swearing and cursing your TV. The agony of losing control alot is easily over come by the pleasure of taking out another big beastly truck. This can just about bring a smile to any gamers face. And for those of you who like to catch some MAJOR air, this may seem like a game for you, but this game always feels to floaty. So, for those of you who are big fans and want to know if your favorite driver is in the game here is a list of them as well as a list of all the tracks know right now.
