Game Details: Quake
The classic FPS comes to N64 with a few changes.
Original N64europe review
"It’s about the slipgate equipment. We can use it to transport people as fast as light when we perfection it. An enemy codenamed : Quake, he uses his own slipgate to penetrate our base and then kills , steals and kidnaps." "What sucks is that we don’t no where he comes from. Our top-scientists think that Quake comes from another dimension and is not from earth." "You’re our best man! This is operation Counterstrike and you’re in command. Find Quake and stop him before it’s to late."
So far the story line. The games has 25 levels and 7 multiplayer levels. The levels are the same as the ones in the PC game accept for a few adjustments. They are big and cool to play. The dark effects and the great cloud of reality was not lost with the conversion of the PC version to the N64 version.
The graphics are great and not disappointing but not at the top of the performances the N64 can get too.. The great music is to be missed this time but the enemy roars are still there! Afcourse there’s also a multiplayer option. The game can be played with up to 2 players. The 7 arena’s (multiplayer levels) are big and very impressive. Good news is that you don’t really need a controller pack because you get a code at the end of each level. It’s however a long code which takes long to insert.
It’s a great game altogether and playable for a long time!! Run and get Quake..
