Original N64europe review
You'll probably all know the Nintendo classic Tetris! Well Nintendo is back with Tetris on the N64, but now with a whole new and very original style.
Like I said this isn't a Tetris game like you used to play on the SNES or other game console. They thought of a very nice variation of the original version. Well, what's the difference you'll probably think. This time you have a big ball covered with Tetris blocks and your task is to remove the shaped blocks from the big ball, because there is someone trapped inside the ball. This can be done by letting the blocks disappear which can be done by dropping a block on a similar shaped block which himself has to be connected to another or more similar shaped blocks. Yes I know, It sounds complicated but it is very easy to do when you got the idea.
There are many different modes in the game, the single player option is divided in 'Rescue', here you have to remove the blocks to free your friend inside the ball, 'Hide and Seek', this contains various kind of levels with different tasks, 'Puzzle', this option got me confused because I didn't know what to do because it wasn't explained anywhere how to work this part of the game. I think the target was to let all the block disappear in one time. Also 'vs. CPU' is in the single player game, this is where you have to beat the computer by freeing your friend before he does, and last but not least… uhm…. Time Trial, this should speak for itself.
Tetrisphere also has a multiplayer option which is the same as the single player mode 'vs. CPU' except that you know have to compete to a friend. This is a great game and very addictive. It has more than 100 levels so have fun!!
