Game Details: WCW Nitro
A wrestling game for the N64
Original N64europe Review
Wrestlers fans couldn't have two better years than '98 and '99. ThQ has released its third WCW title in this period... Apperently Gamers can't see to get enough of them. This of course isn't a bad thing since I myself am addicted to the WCW games aswel.
Of course every part is better than the last part... What is the reason for you to buy this third title insted of the second? The Answer is: More Wrestlers! Authentic Venues! Better Gameplay! From the other two titles we are used to the same gameplay. WCW Nitro hasn't got quite the same gameplay.. World Tour and Revenge featered a gameplay based on grappling, Nitro has a gameplay based on special moves. This makes the game a bit more harder to play because you know have to learn the moves of each wrestler... which will take a while.
WCW Nitro doens't feature a create a wrestler option which is sorry to hear.. But the game will already have 60 wrestlers and 16 hidden wrestlers. Developer Inland Productions digitally photographed each wrestler from multiple angles and used the results to build picture-perfect animations.
The audio track features the WCW Nitro theme song and commentary from official WCW announcers Tony Schiavonne and Mike Tenay. The rest of the sound is also great! It has been much improved since the first title World Tour.
All in one THQ has brought us a terrific game and definatly worth buying.. if you already own a previous released WCW title I'd advice you to rent Nitro first to see if it worth buying... I think only the improved graphics are a good reason to buy this game immedialty... Unfortunatly we will have to wait a couple of weeks for the European release
