3DS finally knocked off the top spot in Japan

The latest Media Create charts from Japan are out, and for the second week in a row, it's a healthily busy situation, especially for Sony platforms.

New releases for each of Sony's three systems impressively occupied the top of the software chart, but Nintendo's Animal Crossing: New Leaf still holds in there with very strong legs.

There are no signs of Wii U software in the chart this week, but a resurgent Vita has a mighty five titles in the top 20.

Here is the full software chart for the week of March 4th to 10th.

The real headline is, for once, to be had in the software chart. Following last week's price cut, Vita has enjoyed a second consecutive week of big new software, keeping its hardware total high. Coinciding with a gentle slump for 3DS, it meant Vita found itself at the top of the hardware chart.
