Animal Crossing & Fire Emblem mobile delayed until 2017

Nintendo announced in March 2015 that they would have five mobile games available by March 2017 and a few months ago announced Animal Crossing and Fire Emblem would be two of them.

The titles were due to release later this year, but Nintendo has confirmed that they have been pushed back and are scheduled to be released by the end of March 2017 in order to focus on Super Mario Run.

Super Mario Run, which was announced yesterday, is due to launch on iOS in December and later on Android devices.  After that we should get Animal Crossing and Fire Emblem, which should be available on both iOS and Android.

Nintendo has previously stated that the mobile Animal Crossing game will "connect to" the world of the Animal Crossing console games, but no details about how this will work have been announced so far.  Nintendo did promise an Animal Crossing Nintendo Direct in the coming months, so we may find out then.

If Nintendo sticks to their plans March 2017 could well see the release of Animal Crossing and Fire Emblem on mobile, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and the Nintendo NX.
