Arcade Archives: Namco's 4-Player Fighter "Knuckle Heads" Released

Available now on the Switch eShop for is Namco's first attempt at the fighting genre: Knuckle Heads, as part of the Arcaade Archives collection.

Knuckle Heads was Namco's answer to Street Fighter II, and it had a few interesting features. The most notable was a frantic four-player mode, all battling it out in the small arenas. It also bucked the trend of fiting games at the time and had a jump button. Knuckle Heads also featured a voice cast from popula anime shows at the time. Namco would later find much bigger success in the fighting gentre with Tekkn.

It is being released via Arcade Archives, wtich strives on making as many past arcade games available on Switch and other platforms. The Switch releases even include some of Nintendo's arcade games like Donkey Kong, Sky Skipper and VS. Super Mario Bros. While Knuckle Heads was released on the Wii Virtual Console in Japan in 2009, this will be the first time it will be more widely available worldwide.
