Charts: August Sales In America

In August, America has seen the release of the much anticapted Metroid Prime 3, the game that would complete the trilogy. And it has done very well, along with the Wii that sold more then the Nintendo DS. In the software side of things Nintendo took four places out of the top 10. Look below for the results:

- Nintendo Wii - 403,600 (Total 4 million)
- Nintendo DS - 383,300 (Total 12.7 million)
- Xbox 360 - 276,700
- PlayStation 2 - 202,000
- PlayStation Portable - 151,200
- PlayStation 3 - 130,600
Software
- Madden NFL 08 - Xbox 360 - 896,600
- Madden NFL 08 - PlayStation 2 - 643,600
- BioShock - Xbox 360 - 490,900
- Madden NFL 08 - PlayStation 3 - 336,200
- Wii Play - Wii - 256,800
- Metroid Prime 3: Corruption - Wii - 218,100
- Mario Strikers: Charged - Wii - 147,400
- Guitar Hero 2 Bundle - PlayStation 2 - 145,400
- Mario Party 8 - Wii - 138,300
- Guitar Hero Encore - PlayStation 2 - 127,100
Its important to remember that Metroid Prime 3 only got released on the 27th of August so at the time of the results, was only out for a few days. The sales will be much better in September
