Hamsters..HAMSTERS! What is so great about these furry creatures? Anyway, as you have probably figured, this week's Japanese Software and Hardware charts are here.
On the software side of things, Hamsters and Gambling dominate the chart. Yes, you read right. Hamsters have knocked Wario Ware off the top spot. The new leader of the pack is in the shape of the hamster-toting Tottoko Hamutaro 4. How cute. There is no sign of the GameCube in the top 10, a sad sight. The money-spinning GBA features heavily however. The mini-game packed Wario Ware slides in at 4 and the ever-popular Pokemon titles make it to 7 and 8. Sales have been rather poor this week, following the shenanigans at E3, but this is an annual occurrence. No need to get too worried. Feast your eyes on the chart below.
1) Tottoko Hamutaro 4 - GBA
2) Ultimate Pachinko Station V7: Tensai Bakabon 2 - PS2
3) Max Payne - PS2
4) Wario Ware, Inc.: Mega Microgame$ - GBA
5) Taiko no Tatsujin - Doki! Spring Festival with New Songs - PS2
6) Dragon Warrior Monsters: Caravan Heart - GBA
7) Pokemon Ruby - GBA
8) Pokemon Sapphire - GBA
9) Phantom of Inferno - PS2
10) Fire Emblem: Recca no Ken - GBA
Moving swiftly on, time to take a look at the seemingly static hardware chart. The PlayStation 2 and the sleek GBA SP continue to dominate the chart, the moving and shaking is about as frequent as Satoru Iwata's nice comments. Bill Gates continues to be humiliated in Nintendo's homeland as the Xbox has been overtaken by the PSOne, with a grand total of 849 sales. Hardware sales have followed in the footsteps of its softer brother, with sales being disappointing this week.
1) PlayStation 2: 54,789
2) Game Boy Advance SP: 36,988
3) Game Boy Advance: 9,556
4) GameCube: 4,527
5) PSOne: 1,315
6) Xbox: 849
7) Wonder Swan Color: 484
8) Game Boy Color: 80
9) Wonder Swan Crystal: 75
Well that's it for this week's charts straight from the land of the rising sun.
