Charts: Japanese Software and Hardware

Time to find out what gaming products the people of Japan have been getting their grubby mitts on.

The lovely people over at Media Create kindly sent us the weekly Japanese software and hardware charts today, software is up for bat first.

Another good week for Nintendo, with seven titles from the chart appearing on the company's platforms. Unfortunately six of those appear on the Game Boy Advance, with only one GameCube title featuring. That title is Pokemon Box, complete with memory card and/or GCN/GBA link-cable, and slides in at three. The obligatory Pokemon GBA titles make an appearance at six and seven, and Wario Ware makes it to eight. Poor sales all round this week, but things are getting better. Cast you eyes below for the full chart.

1) Let's make J-League Pro. Soccer Club! 3 - PS2
2) Fire Pro Wrestling Z (incl. bundled version) - PS2
3) Pokemon Box Ruby & Sapphire (with Memory Card 59 & GBA Cable) - GCN
4) Tottoko Hamutaro 4 - GBA
5) Virtual On Marz - PS2
6) Pokemon Sapphire - GBA
7) Pokemon Ruby - GBA
8) Wario Ware, Inc.: Mega Microgame$ - GBA
9) Fire Emblem: Recca no Ken - GBA
10) Dragon Warrior Monsters: Caravan Heart - GBA

Onto Hardware, and there is not much movin' and shakin' this week, as in recent weeks. The mighty PlayStation 2 retains it's number one spot, with the GBA SP sliding in at two. GameCube stays put at four, with the Xbox clawing back some sales to overtake the PSone. Hardware sales are still poor, but with software sales picking up once more, it could see the start of an increase in unit sales. Check the full chart below.

1) PlayStation 2: 52,720
2) Game Boy Advance SP: 43,675
3) Game Boy Advance: 10,772
4) GameCube: 4,282
5) Xbox: 1,136
6) PSOne: 642
7) Wonder Swan Color: 407
