Sales for the week ending February 26th show the original DS supply lines are restored just in time to be challenged by the new DS Lite.

Even with all the DS Lite hype during the week leading to its launch, the original design still managed to outsell all other platforms. It would seem that after promising at the beginning of the year that their supply lines would be straightened out by the end of January, only now have they been able to do so. At least it would seem the Big N will be able to maintain a steady stream of new systems every week in March, even if it may not be enough to satisfy demand (and, in the case of the Lite, we can now see that it won't). The week's software chart was seized by the recent influx of high-caliber new PS2 titles. The popular DS titles of recent weeks actually did not fluctuate much in number of units sold, some even raising their totals from previous weeks. Hot PS2 sequels, such as strategy RPG Disgaea 2, RPG Genso Suikoden V and Koei's Sengoku Musou followup proved extremely popular. Next week, alongside the Lite, will be the launch of a handful of notable DS titles including Children of Mana and Puzzloop.
