Charts: Latest Japanese Software & Hardware

The Japanese figures are in for the week ending 24/7! Mario Baseball hits the charts and the DS goes from strength to strength!

Courtesy of Media-Create, we have the most recent sales figures from Japan.

This week in Japan a flurry of new entries shook up the charts. Sengoku Basara on PS2 stole the top spot, while Mario Superstar Baseball entered the charts in a respectable third place, ahead of the latest Fullmetal Alchemist title, which was a new entry in fifth position. Other new entries charting this week include Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters: Nightmare Troubadour and Bleach Advance, for DS and GBA respectively.

DS non-games Gentle Brain Exercises and Training For Adults: Work Your Brain remain firm in the charts, despite both having big drops in sales since last week. Here's the charts in detail:

The DS saw a healthy growth in sales this week, and it wasn't aided by any major title launch either which is encouraging. Both the PS2 and PSP sales dipped this week, the PSP's sales sinking below 20,000 for the first time in a long while. Elsewhere, the GBA SP, Cube and GBA saw slight sales increases this week, but nothing to upset the order of the chart.
