Charts: Latest Japanese Software & Hardware Sales

In the week ending October 29th, Nintendo's latest "non-game" arrived for Japanese mass consumption.

Courtesy of Media-Create, we have the most recent sales figures from Japan.

The week saw several interesting developments: first off was the release of Nintendo's newest "Touch Generations" title Common Sense Training. If other Training games are any indication, get used to seeing the game on the charts for the next few weeks. Speaking of the Training games, the past week also marked the sudden disappearance of Brain Training 2 and Animal Crossing. Those titles had been such a fixture of the weekly charts that that their omission so suddenly is a bit jarring.

In other software news, the DS RPG Tales of the Tempest debuted solidly.

In hardware sales, the only notable shift came in a slight uptick of PSP sales. Otherwise, the field was again overshadowed by the DS juggernaut. The release of the PS3 and the Wii are getting closer and closer however...it may well become Wii versus the DS Lite in the marketplace come the holidays.
