Charts: Latest Japanese Software & Hardware Sales

Pokemon headline yet another DS-heavy sales week for the period ending October 22nd.

Courtesy of Media-Create, we have the most recent sales figures from Japan.

The week's sales saw few new releases across platforms. As such, Pokemon Diamond/Pearl again led the pack. Combined, the latest monster battler has now passed 2.5 million sold in Japan. Of particular note, the week's new releases included Gekitou! Custom Robo for the DS. This latest game in the nominally popular series actually sports WiFi Connection-enhanced battling modes - a welcome first for the series.

In hardware, DS Lite sales again surged onward. The handheld's success continues to outstrip Nintendo's expectations while powering the company's earnings. November will prove to be yet another huge month with the release of a handful of high profile third party games (such as Dragon Quest Joker).
