Charts: Latest Japanese Software & Hardware Sales

It was Mario Party time again on the charts for the week ending November 13th.

Courtesy of Media-Create, we have the most recent sales figures from Japan.

With the 2 million mark eclipsed for the year, the DS is looking to make the holidays its stomping grounds. Overall system sales did not fluctuate much for the week, but Japan's first online DS game, Animal Crossing, is now right around the corner. Signs point to another DS hit waiting in the wings which in turn will likely give unit sales a healthy boost. The Gamecube meanwhile saw a small boost in sales thanks to the latest iteration of Mario Party.

Though overall sales were not robust, Nintendo's new Mario Party 7 managed a healthy opening week of over 80k units sold. Otherwise the usual DS suspects all made their token (as of late) appearances, along with the PSP Brain Training. Though by this time many US gamers are already enjoying their copies of Mario Kart DS (with Europe to follow very, very soon) Japan has Animal Crossing DS less than a week away...and by what we are hearing of the pre-order numbers the game will be mammoth.
