Charts: Latest Japanese Software & Hardware Sales

The latest sales numbers for the week ending October 3rd.

Courtesy of Media-Create, we have the most recent sales figures from Japan.

Hardware sales were paced once again by solid handheld sales. The DS led again, with the PSP not far behind. Meanwhile, the GBA platform continued with its strong performance between the Micro and the SP. Cube sales continued to comparatively languish, and will likely continue to do so until a certain pointy-eared sword-swinger gallops in next year to send the system out with a bang.

On the software front, though the top slot was taken by a new DragonballZ PS2 title, most of the chart was occupied by recent standouts. Tamagotchi and the Brain Training/Exercises games continued to exhibit their broad appeal while throwback favorite Famicom Mini: Super Mario Bros. remained high on in the Top 10 as well. Unabashedly showing off its great legs in the sales charts, Sega's Mushiking also returned to the 10 slot.
