Creepy indie adventure Year Walk coming to Wii U

Acclaimed 2013 puzzler Year Walk will be coming to Wii U later this summer, developer Simogo has announced.

The spookily artistic adventure was originally launched on mobile devices in 2013 and ported to Steam a year later. The Wii U version will be the console debut, and Simogo has revealed that the game has been completely revamped for Nintendo's console. The studio is working on the project alongside Dakko Dakko - creators of the Wii U eShop gem Scram Kitty.

The GamePad can be used to view the map, gather hints, and check the game's encyclopedia. But it will also be used for immersive motion controls. You can look around your environment and examine objects by gently tilting the pad (quite similar to Splatoon).

Even more interestingly, you'll have to use the GamePad physically to interact with in-game objects. For example, if you find an object that you can rotate, you'll have to actually rotate the GamePad. These custom-made motion controls are featured throughout the game.

Simogo has described Year Walk for Wii U as "the definitive and best version of the game". It is due out later this summer.
