If you're a fan of the original Burnout games, then you may well be very excited about the announcement of Dangerous Driving 2 coming to the Nintendo Switch in 2020.
For anyone who is unaware, the team behind the Dangerous Driving series are Three Fields Entertainment who just happen to be made up of many members of the original Burnout team, they released the first game on other platforms in addition to other titles before which have effectively enabled them to release the titles which they have always wanted to bring to fans of their unique style of Racing game.
I've personally played the first Dangerous Driving title which did get off to a rocky start with a few glitches and not quite enough modes, but the post-launch dedication from Three Fields Enetertainment was certainly something to behold indeed; several updates were released which added significant amounts of extra content and fixes to the game plus the team are clearly passionate about keeping fans of their games in the loop as they release regular updates should you choose to sign up to their mailing list.
Check below for the first details...
Dangerous Driving 2 is the arcade racer for everyone, featuring slick driving that rewards racing fans wanting to test their lightning reflexes at eye watering speeds. Set within a dynamic open world, players can choose how they want to race, either by competing in a host of thrilling events against AI opponents or going for a cruise in freedrive mode and testing the limits of the game’s emergent crash mechanics with huge multi-vehicle pile-ups. This world can be explored solo or in split-screen multiplayer, while those looking to challenge the best drivers around the globe can take the action online.
While the original Dangerous Driving didn't get released on the Switch, it was quite the love letter to the earlier Burnout titles and had everything apart from the music, this seems to be something which the team is keen to fix with this latest release and it seems that Dangerous Driving 2 will be created in a similar vein to that of Burnout Paradise which was more open-world in style but with the same brilliant mechanics which made the earlier games such fun to play.
Are you as excited as we are for this one? Did you enjoy playing the original Burnout games on the GameCube or other platforms? Will this be your first foray into the Dangerous Driving series?
