Nintendo has announced that they are teaming up with Culture TECH Festival to offer developers a chance to win a support package designed to help them turn their game idea into a Wii U eShop title.
The Derry GameCraft game jam challenges teams to come up with a game in just 24 hours. While the challenge itself is platform agnostic, Nintendo has announced that three of the participating teams will be offered a Bright Future Kit prize.
This kit contains fast-track authorisation, free access to a Wii U development kit and Nintendo’s tech support, and also includes, if desired, in-depth game design feedback on their game in development from Nintendo’s game evaluation team. The games will then be released on the Wii U eShop at some point in the future.
Nintendo will also be on hand to help indie developers explore the Wii U development kit and the recently announced HTML5 and JavaScript framework. Participants will also receive a free unlimited non-commercial lciense for the JavaScript game engine Impact, courtesy of its creator.
The theme for the game jam will be unveiled on September 13th. If you're an aspiring game developer be sure to check out the GameCraft event as it could be the start of an exciting career!
