Devil's Third given release date, bizarre ten minute trailer

Tomonobu Itagaki's Devil's Third has been confirmed for a European release of August 28th.

The over-the-top action game will complete a protracted development process that started as a PS3/Xbox 360 title and will end as a Nintendo-published Wii U exclusive.

Devil's Third is the personal brainchild of Itagaki - best known for heading up the Dead or Alive series and the modern Ninja Gaiden games whilst at Tecmo. After leaving the Japanese giant in 2008, he set up Valhalla Game Studios to begin work on the game, and several years later, Nintendo has stepped in to publish the game on Wii U.

Alongside the release date announcement, Nintendo of Japan released a lengthy look of the game, featuring long monolgues from Itagaki himself. It's oddly watchable, even though we don't understand a word of what he's saying.

Devil's Third is also to release in Japan in August, although curiously enough, it will only be available there through Amazon, and of course the eShop.
