Long rumoured, today saw confirmation that Enix's PlayStation JRPG Dragon Quest VII will be receiving a full remake exclusively for Nintendo 3DS.

The reveal came in the latest edition of Japanese gaming bible Famitsu, with scans floating around showing the original's isometric, sprite graphics reworked into full 3D. The game will also have added StreetPass functionality - which only whets our apetites further following the social connectivity aspect of the DS' Dragon Quest IX.

Rather surprisingly, the game already has a provisional Japanese release date of February 2013.
