TDK Mediactive captures cult license
TDK Mediactive Europe, a division of TDK Recording Media Europe S.A., announced today the acquisition of the license to develop games based on the cult character 'Conan'.
Renowned developer Cauldron from the Slovak Republic will be spearheading the development of the first next generation tiles, which will be due for release in 2003.
Heiko tom Felde, Director of TDK Mediactive Europe said: "Since the first brainstorm with our development team Cauldron we have had our sights set high to create a new reference in 3rd person action adventure games. We are delighted to have Jan Kant�rek as storywriter on the team who has a wealth of 'Conan' experience from translation of the books and who will pick up the storyline of this fantastic adventure after the first cult movie."
He added: "With a specially developed Conan 3D Engine allowing the creation of huge, detailed scenarios with unique atmospheres of intense light and shadow effects, we believe that 'Conan' the game will not only satisfy the high expectation of Conan fans but gamers alike with its amazing graphics and barbaric gameplay!"
