E3 2003: Empire Splash The Cash

Empire Interactive has snapped up the rights to create games based on the hit film and animated series, Starship Troopers. Troop inside for the details�

Starship Troopers will be appearing on a GameCube near you soon, thanks to Empire Interactive, who have signed an exclusive deal with Sony Entertainment which allows them to create games based on said film for the next five years. The deal was announced at E3 in Los Angeles, and Empire also revealed the title for the first game based on the movie, in a cunning twist of events, the game will be labelled Starship Troopers. The title is being developed for PC and all current and next-generation consoles, and is being created internally at Strangelite Studio, Empires award winning development house.

Ian Higgins, CEO of Empire, said: "Starship Troopers is a film licence that lends itself perfectly to the video game genre. We believe it will have global appeal and, combined with our award-winning development team, we will deliver a franchise that will allow gamers the chance to play their favourite scenes from the blockbuster movie."
