E3 2003: Gameboy Player Bundle?

From June on. Details, as ever, inside...

Nintendo announced that, for a limited time, the Gamecube will be bundled with a Gameboy Player for no additional cost. The bundle will be available for a limited time, starting from June 20th 2003 in Europe, and the 23rd in America.

The Gameboy Player is an add-on that, connecting to the high speed port of the Gamecube, allows the 128 bit console to run Gameboy games, that can then be played on television.

Peter MacDougall, executive vice president, sales and marketing, Nintendo of America, states that "This offer builds on the incredible momentum generated by our Game Boy Advance line, which has already sold 35 million systems worldwide. Once we saw the enthusiastic reception given to the debut of Game Boy Player here on the show floor at the E3 trade show, it was an easy decision to move ahead with our plans to combine these two products."

This offer will allow buyers to choose right out of the box from a huge library of 1.500 games, 300 Gamecube and 1.200 Gameboy.
