E3 2003: Kojima interviewed

Hideo Kojima was interviewed about his MGS games...

Hideo Kojima was interviewed about its two upcoming Metal Gear Solid games, MGS 3: Snake Eater (which isn't confirmed yet for the Gamecube) and GC exclusive The Twin Snakes.

About the latter, he told that was asked by Miyamoto himself to do a MGS game for the Gamecube, and he obviously could not refuse. Miyamoto then introduced Mr. Kojima to Silicon Knights, and he involved in the project his friend Ryuhei Kitamura, the director of the movie Versus.

Kitamura took the direction of all the cinemas and the motion capture, that are now much more exciting and "hollywood styled" than ever before. For some scenes he used a pneumatic device for shooting people into the air. The cut scenes will be totally different from what we've seen till now: it took almost two whole months, for the motion capture part.

Design wise, the enhanced AI and character moves from MGS2 will be implemented in Twin Snakes, but, being the game based on the first MGS, the stages will not be changed too drastically.

The involvement of Kitamura, a highly action-oriented movie director, is a really good news for a game that's famous for its cinematic qualities.
