E3 2003: Pokémon Details

Some details have been announced regarding the upcoming Pokémon games on the GameCube.

While Pokémon Box: Ruby and Sapphire was announced a few weeks ago it was never classed as a full game. However recent reports suggest the names of two new Pokémon games have been discovered.

The first game is called Pokémon Colosseum and it is the official name for the already announced Pokémon Stadium. This one will be third in the series in America and fourth in Japan. The previous incarnations have been on the N64 and have allowed you to upload your Pokémon from your Game Boy games and battle them in 3D.

The other game is called Pokémon Channel: Together With Pikachu. While no details are known about this game at present it is rumoured that it is a sequel to the Nintendo 64 game Hey You Pikachu! The game itself was never released in Europe but allowed players to talk to and interact with Pikachu.

Expect more details and possible screenshots or footage at E3 2003, starting tomorrow.

Japanese release dates have also been announced.

  • July 18th: Pokémon Channel: Together With Pikachu
  • Autumn: Pokémon Colosseum
