Nintendo will unleash all new games next year, while nothing is new here it is interesting to know what they say about things, including the PSP.
Donkey Kong: Jungle Beat, Advance Wars: Under Fire, Pikmin 2, Mario Party 6 and Paper Mario 2 were all discussed by Nintendo at the conference. They stated that by the end of this year there will be more then 400 games for the GameCube.
" The common factor among all of them is fun" according to George Harrison and Nintendo are set to introduce even more fun games.
Pokémon Fire Red and Leaf Green, due out later in the year in America, have already sold 2.5 million in Japan and thats in less then 15 weeks. This has also boosted the sales of the newly released GBA wireless adaptor.
George Harrison also announced that the GBA video, which allows you to watch certain shows, has had over 2 million initial unit orders. The first titles in the GBA video range include Pokémon and Spongebob Squarepants.
Over 33% of the GBA SP sales are bought by over 18 year olds. Apparently the classic NES will increase the over 18 demographic further.
George Harrison also stated that for the PSP to do well it must do better then the PS2. And with an expected 25 million GBA SP oweners in the USA by the time PSP comes out it wont be easy. In the last year the GBA has sold 21 million units, while only 20.5 million for PS2.
