E3 2005: Tantalus Announces Anaka

The Australian based developer Tantalus Interactive has announced it is working on several Nintendo DS titles, including an all original game entitled Anaka!

Tantalus Interactive has announced it is launching a new, original property, which will come to life next year on the Nintendo DS. Developed by the studio responsible for more than twenty hit titles, Anaka is aimed squarely at the target DS demographic, and is a license that will appeal to male and female gamers alike.

To kick-start the launch of the brand, Tantalus has partnered with acclaimed Melbourne animation studio Act 3 to produce a CG short film, which will be shown at E3. Made with the assistance of Film Victoria, the movie sets the scene for the game, introducing Anaka and her world and simulating the type of action that gamers can expect on the DS. The Anaka movie will also be shown on television and in short film festivals around the world.

Tantalus will be well represented at this year's E3, and will also show two signed but as yet unannounced titles for DS behind closed doors.

So far we don't know a lot about Anaka except for the fact it will be launched on the Nintendo DS. However, we expect we will be able to post the Anaka movie on Cube-Europe later today! Stay tuned for more...

Update: A CG movie for your viewing pleasure.

Tantalus has released the CG movie mentioned earlier to show what the game is all about. The movie is available in two different flavours (.wmv or .mov) and in two different bandwidths.
